Creating a Culture that Values Diversity

October 10 @ 1:50 pm - 2:40 pm

What does it mean to develop inclusive pedagogies that support all learners to succeed and thrive in the early years? How can we design environments that nurture all learners by attending to a range of sensory profiles, while creating opportunities for all learners to build on their strengths? How can we support all learners to develop their executive function and emotional regulation skills so that we set them up for learning while enhancing their wellbeing? In this session we will explore how we can enact the principles of the neurodiversity paradigm in early years education by creating a culture that values diversity, and designing environments and learning programmes that respond to children’s different strengths and needs. We will also look at ways to support neurodivergent learners through the transition to school.
