An introduction to ByteEd’s innovative technologies & unplugged approaches for learning.

October 10 @ 11:10 am - 12:00 pm

Are you looking for stimulating and engaging approaches using digital tools to support learning in the classroom?

This workshop introduces a range of educational resources designed and developed by ByteEd, an Aotearoa New Zealand EdTech company. All resources utilise an ‘unplugged’ hands on approach to lay foundations for knowledge and skill development before transitioning ākonga to a digital space.

We start by exploring ByteEd’s Play Code Learn series, a research based educational resource for learners aged 4 to 13 years of age. This series follows a play-based methodology to motivate learning in computational thinking and digital technologies. The first kit in the series; Dinosaur Steps, introduces computer science concepts and develops key competencies through an integrated learning approach and augmented reality tools.

Next we introduce a brand new teaching resource being developed by the teams from Stylefit and ByteEd, merging structured literacy methodology with cutting-edge technologies to engage and motivate learners with writing. Our ‘sneak peek’ will demonstrate use of augmented reality (AR) and generative AI tools,  to develop and deepen understanding and knowledge of sounds, letters, numbers, words, sentences, and stories!

Finally, we demonstrate ByteEd’s latest resource; ByteEd Doodle AI.  Aimed at learners from year 3 onwards, we introduce machine learning in artificial intelligence through Visual Arts & Literacy. Help us to grow our data, to develop unique and innovative digital tools for the classroom!

Prepare your ākonga to be digitally literate citizens of the future!
