Sandra Sells - New Entrant Specialist and Leader of the Gateway Classroom at Gate Pā School. Sandra is an experienced new entrant specialist who has been integral to the development of the Gateway/New Entrant classroom at Gate Pā School. She has worked alongside Jodi and the Junior Team to embed the use of play and the Ready 4 Learning framework, to support the development of foundation skills and inform whanau of the importance of supporting the development of these skills at home. These practices are setting students up for success as they move through the school. The assessment process and observations allow teachers to target students gaps, next steps, and support building stronger whanau relationships.

Jodi Hill - Leader of Learning Support at Gate Pā School Jodi started her teaching career in South Auckland before moving to Tauranga. She has been privileged to work in a variety of kura and learning environments across the primary year levels. Jodi started at Gate Pā School in 2021 and took on the junior team leadership with a responsibility of revamping the use of play. Since then she and her team have embraced the Ready 4 Learning framework, developing their Gateway classroom and whanau support. This year they have also begun the roll out of their Target Task Tubs to support the use of play and developing foundation skills in the years that follow their Gateway class.
