Is It Sensory Or Is It Behaviour?

October 10 @ 9:50 am - 10:40 am

SORRY this workshop is now FULL

Dive into the world of sensory – we have 9 sensory systems that affect learning, play, relationships, and how we as individuals relate to the world and each other. Not all ákonga can ‘sense’ what is happening inside their bodies, such as a racing heart that indicates frustration – making regulation harder to learn for some. What can we do to help them??

Join the paradigm shift away from the focus on behaviour modification through rewards and punishments, towards culturally safe, relationship based approaches that asks kaiako to be curious about what the unmet need underlying the behaviour may be, and some key ways to respond.
