Neuroscience and Trauma Informed Approaches

October 10 @ 11:10 am - 12:00 pm

Frian will be presenting a brief glimpse into Neuroscience and Trauma Informed Approaches so that educators, specialists and all adults supporting students in educational settings can better understand learning, inclusion and wellbeing of our tamariki through a nervous system lens.

Many tamariki and rangatahi in our educational settings are disengaged and display significantly distressed behaviours due to underlying issues such as trauma, experiences of abuse, neglect, discrimination, bullying, socioeconomic disadvantage and marginalisation based on other factors.

Adopting a neuroscience and trauma informed lens supports educators and adults to respond in more effective and compassionate ways, remove the barriers to learning and establish relational safety which ultimately restores engagement and learning.

If this is a topic you are interested in, come along and join Frian’s break out session!
